What makes a Campaign ad effective?

I agree with Ethan when he explained that a really good ad has all the components we have discussed in class, emotion, persuasion, truth, and style. In an ad that is emotionally centered if it is truly a four it will capture the audience and persuade them with the style and somewhat of the truth to support that candidate.  An ad has one point and that is to get people interested in and to vote for a candidate.  When people make ads all of these things are necessary.  The ad needs style to keep the audience hooked, emotion to connect that person to the candidate, truth in order to quickly give facts and benefits of the candidate, and then lastly use those truth phrases in a persuasive manner. But, out of all of these aspects like Kayla presented in her post I too think that emotion is the most important.  When an ad comes on most people like to see something and hear something that will benefit them; that will most likely connect the viewer with the candidate.  So, when there is an emotional ad people will actually take interest in because it is reaching out to them.

This ad by Ronald Regan which aired in 1984 named "Prouder, Stronger, Better" was the best emotional ad that I have seen.  This ad was so effective because of the connection it created with the audience.  As people watched this they realized how much Ronald Regan has done and by using intimate scenarios like marriage and the future of the youth Regan captured the minds of many.  People heard this and now clearly understood and knew so many things that Regan had accomplished so quickly.  This ad gave people a sense of hope and security for the future and Regan made this clear it would only stay like this if he were to be elected again.  So, inside this amazing emotional ad he also was persuasive and used style to hook viewers.  So even though the emotion in an ad is the most vital aspect every apse must be present for an ad that would be a possible 16.
