What makes a Campaign Ad effective

To have an effective campaign ad there must be a certain criteria that helps it convince its viewers. Obviously a good ad will have 4/4 in each section( emotion, persuasion, truth, and style). But, in my opinion an ad that has a lot of emotion is extremely effective for 2 main reasons. One is that to have a good emotional ad it needs to connect with people that are watching it. Another reason is that it represents a clear message to the audience to vote for or against the candidate. Another factor that an ad should have is a good style to it. To have good style it needs to include appropriate music to go along with the video or images that you see. It also needs to show a clear message and connect to the viewers at home, similar to emotion. This 1988 Bush ad has a clear sense of emotion and style. it shows him with his family and smiling like he is a normal guy living a normal life. It shows him at a family picnic. All these show that he is a good guy and why wouldn't you vote for a guy like this. To go along with that they added a joyful tune to the background that matched the happy scenery going through the video. Another thing that they added at the end was with that elderly woman who gave a quote of bush. If I was watching this ad in 88' I would go vote for Bush.
