There definitely needs to be change to the current campaign finance system. As illustrated in our mind maps the current system is so confusing and interconnected that even if you are trying to run an "honest" campaign it's very difficult to know how to do that. I think we should combine two of the solutions proposed by the article. First, we should begin with a clean slate by wiping out the many reform policies that currently gunk up the system. After that an all encompassing reform policy should be passed so that there is only one point of reference. People in support of this type of reform like those rallying for an amendment to the Constitution should understand that there will be leaks but they will be easier to control if the flood waters are held back by one strong wall rather than a bunch of little, uneven stones that allow for many cracks and crevices for water to find its way through.
I wanted to find a political cartoon that illustrated a river that was being stopped by rocks that actually did nothing to stop the flow compared to something like a dam that held back the water but I couldn't find one. This helps me illustrate my point because all the money that is in the bag has come from cracks in the current reform policy.
You're argument is well taken and thoughtful, however, what about the article and the documentary? You need to reference those in your post too!
